Technology brief
is a closed-loop platform for deep cleaning of heavily contaminated natural workwear and uniforms (cotton, linen, hemp, low-synthetic blends) without conventional water washing or detergents.
The challenge
Industrial workwear; service and municipal uniforms; medical/sanitary uniforms; government and defense uniforms (within civil operational standards). Material compatibility: 100 % cotton, linen, hemp, and limited-synthetic blends; no thermosensitive coatings required.
Users: industrial laundries, municipal services, healthcare, defense logistics.
ARBOK solution
ARBOK-UNIFORMIS is a closed-loop platform for deep cleaning of heavily contaminated natural workwear and uniforms (cotton, linen, hemp, low-synthetic blends) without conventional water washing or detergents. Workwear carries the highest water and chemical load of any professional laundry segment (oils, hydrocarbons, soot, biological residues). The platform removes contaminants from within the fiber structure rather than emulsifying and redistributing them, using water only to generate steam.
Contaminants are extracted from within the fiber in a closed cycle; the working medium is recovered and reused (95–97 %), with water consumed only for a mandatory final steam treatment — no liquid-water washing phase. This replaces the base physics of water-based washing rather than optimizing it.
Limitations: working-medium chemistry/identity not specified in source; sanitation efficacy across contaminant classes and fabric types not independently validated.
Market and application
Workwear/uniforms are the largest professional textile-cleaning segment: an estimated 1.2–1.5 billion sets in continuous use, 40–60 billion wash cycles/year, 1.6–4.8 trillion litres of water and 6–10 million tonnes of chemicals annually. Current market cost $12–30 billion/year. A waterless, chemical-free route addresses this at structural scale.
Up to 95 % water reduction, full chemical-cost elimination, 30–60 % garment-life extension, reduced logistics. Estimated global savings $6–15 billion/year. Unit CAPEX/payback not specified — indicative until pilot.
Use cases
Industrial workwear; service and municipal uniforms; medical/sanitary uniforms; government and defense uniforms (within civil operational standards). Material compatibility: 100 % cotton, linen, hemp, and limited-synthetic blends; no thermosensitive coatings required.
Users: industrial laundries, municipal services, healthcare, defense logistics.
Steps: load workwear → closed waterless cleaning cycle (45–55 °C, 10–15 min) → mandatory steam treatment → unload (<15 % residual moisture). Working medium recovered and recycled. Remaining: bench/pilot validation of cleaning efficacy and working-medium economics.
Built on the ARBOK closed-loop/vacuum cleaning platform; sibling to household ARBOK-WASH (Closed-Loop Laundry System); complements ARBOK circular-water and zero-chemistry systems.

Load capacity: 50–200 kg. Operating temperature: 45–55 °C. Cycle: 10–15 minutes. Residual moisture: <15 %. Working-medium recovery: 95–97 %. Final steam treatment: mandatory. Water used only for steam (vs 15–25 L/kg, 40–80 L/set conventional). Garment-life extension: 30–60 %.
Note: figures are platform claims pending pilot validation.
Closed-loop cleaning chamber (50–200 kg); working-medium recovery unit (95–97 %); steam-treatment stage; residue handling; control system. No detergents, alkalis, or degreasers.
Technical: cleans hydrophobic contaminants from within fiber; consistent sanitation; short 10–15 min cycle. Economic: up to 95 % water reduction, full elimination of chemical cost, 30–60 % longer garment life, reduced logistics/turnaround. Environmental: removes detergent/alkali load from wastewater; cuts water use to steam-only.

TRL 3 (confirmed by Michael). Experimental proof-of-concept: process logic and balances defined on the ARBOK closed-loop platform, but no built industrial prototype and no validated sanitation data yet. (Supersedes the legacy "scaling / industrial deployment" claim.)

Working-medium identity, cost, and recovery economics undefined in source. Sanitation/hygiene efficacy must be validated for medical/defense standards. Throughput and energy per kg unquantified. Possible scope overlap with ARBOK-WASH (kept separate by segment/medium — revisit if consolidation is preferred). Legacy maturity overstated.
