Overview

ARBOK-Potato applies the Arbok-TRINITY acid agent to protect potato — feeding 1.3 billion people — from a double strike: aphid-borne viruses (PVY mosaic up to 80 % loss, PLRV leaf-roll, plus PVX/PVS/PVA) and the Colorado potato beetle (resistant to 50+ insecticides, defoliation losses 40–80 %, up to 100 % in Iran). One TRINITY pass drives off both the beetle and the aphid virus-vector within 6 hours without harming bees, butterflies, or birds — where conventional chemistry needs 3–5 repeats per season and ignores the viruses entirely.

Applications

Field treatment of potato crops against Colorado beetle and aphid-borne viruses; protection of seed-tuber multiplication (virus carries forward in tubers — "own" seed loses half its productivity in 3–4 years).

Users: potato growers, seed-potato producers, regional food-security programs.

Operating Principle

The TRINITY chitin-targeting acid solution makes the pest leave within 6 hours (pollinator/bird-safe; acids neutralize in soil to water and safe compounds). Against the beetle it stops infestations where chemistry has failed; against viruses it drives off the aphid vector, cutting the main field-infection channel. Already proven on termites, locusts, and invasive ladybugs.

Limitations: viruses not cured — managed via vector control + clean seed; beetle displacement to untreated fields without area-wide use; potato-specific field validation pending.

Key Parameters

Agent: Arbok-TRINITY acid solution from phosphate waste (>6 billion t globally). Pest departure: within 6 hours; pollinator/bird-safe; soil-neutralizing. One pass vs 3–5 chemical repeats/season. Conventional spraying $138–368/ha; yield gain +20–75 %. Application: drones (no human entry to treated zone) or via irrigation water. Platform production (Arbok-VC): deep vacuum, ambient temperature, 2–4 kWh/t feed, zero effluent.

Architecture and Components

TRINITY concentrate (Arbok-VC) undergoes dilution and dosing before drone spraying or irrigation-system dosing; supported by vector/beetle monitoring, clean seed-tuber protocol, and PPE/acid handling.

Advantages

Technical: one agent, one pass, both threats; resistance-proof where the beetle defeats 50+ insecticides; pollinators/birds unaffected. Economic: single pass vs 3–5 chemical repeats; +20–75 % saved yield; no soil/water-damage costs. Environmental: pollinator-safe, soil-buffered, phosphate-waste origin.

Integrations

Application of Arbok-Repeel; drone and irrigation-based delivery; pairs with clean seed-tuber and IPM programs; sibling to other TRINITY crop cards.

Deployment & Operation

Drone over-field spraying (point/fast, no human entry) or dosing through irrigation; one pass per pest window; area-wide to limit beetle/aphid displacement; combined with clean seed tubers. Remaining: potato-specific field validation and protocol standardization.

TRL

TRL 5 (confirmed by Michael). Validated in relevant environment at the agent level (TRINITY proven on beetle/termites/locusts/ladybug), with potato-specific field validation pending.

TRL scale:

  • TRL 1 — basic principles observed
  • TRL 2 — technology concept formulated
  • TRL 3 — experimental proof-of-concept
  • TRL 4 — validated in lab
  • TRL 5 — validated in relevant environment ← ARBOK-Potato
  • TRL 6 — demonstrated in relevant environment
  • TRL 7 — prototype in operational environment
  • TRL 8 — system complete and qualified
  • TRL 9 — proven in operational environment

Market Potential

Potato is the world's 4th most important crop (1.3 billion people). The Colorado beetle occupies 16+ million km² and spreads north with warming; aphid-borne viruses cause seed degeneration. A single resistance-proof agent against both — if validated — saves regional losses in the hundreds of millions $/year (US scale) and ~$1–2 billion/year globally.

Typical Project Economics

One TRINITY pass is comparable in price to a single conventional spray, but replaces 3–5 chemical repeats and also covers viruses. Savings from season-total spray reduction, +20–75 % saved yield, and avoided soil/water damage. Agent feedstock is negative-cost phosphate waste. Per-hectare specifics indicative.

Risk Factors

Viruses not cured — depends on vector control + clean seed. Beetle/aphid displacement to untreated fields without area-wide deployment. Potato field efficacy needs validation. Regulatory clearance per region. Acid handling/PPE. Drone/irrigation application calibration.
