Overview
ARBOK-PIPELINE moves liquids over long distances using a low-pressure ejector system instead of high-pressure pumping. Designed primarily for fresh water (also oils and solutions, with vapor-compression safety for flammables), it transfers water across 500–1 000+ km at just 100–150 W per ton on flat terrain — a fraction of conventional pumping energy. With no high-pressure build-up, it allows low-cost plastic or flexible hoses instead of thick-walled cathodic steel pipe, and has no moving parts or consumables.
Applications
Primary use cases: moving desalinated water from coast to inland; technical/irrigation water over hundreds of km; supply to arid, infrastructure-poor regions; replacing diesel or high-pressure pumping stations; mining dewatering over distance; industrial coolant/process-fluid transfer; emergency water logistics.
Industries and users: water utilities, irrigation authorities, remote/arid regions, mining, emergency services, industrial operators.
Scale: modular pipeline with boosters; from local transfers to 1 000+ km lines. Throughput 1–10+ m³/hour per line depending on distance and ejector configuration.
Operating Principle
A low-pressure ejector drives the liquid along the line without high-pressure pumping. On flat terrain transport energy is 100–150 W/ton; vertical lift uses 16 kWh/ton per 1 km of elevation, with a compact, field-portable A-TRANS booster unit added for every ~10 m of rise. No pressure build-up (no 25 bar pipe), no moving parts, no consumables.
Limitations: R&D maturity; lift adds energy and boosters; flammable fluids need vapor-compression safety.
Key Parameters
Flat-terrain transport: 100–150 W/ton over 500–1 000+ km.
Vertical lift: 16 kWh/ton per 1 km; A-TRANS booster per ~10 m elevation.
Throughput: 1–10+ m³/hour per line (varies by ejector configuration, elevation, distance).
Pressure: low (well below the levels that require heavy-walled steel pipe) → plastic or flexible hoses usable, with a wide choice of common, low-cost pipe materials. Power: solar/wind/low-grid. Consumables/filters/moving parts: none. No cavitation risk.
Architecture and Components
Ejector transfer units; A-TRANS compact boosters (for elevation); low-cost plastic/flexible piping; optional vapor-compression safety module (flammables); control system. Lightweight, modular, maintenance-free.
Advantages
Technical: no high-pressure pipe, no moving parts/motors, maintenance-free; works on low/renewable power.
Economic: record-low transport energy (100–150 W/ton flat); cheap piping; transferring 1 ton may cost a few cents at $0.25/kWh.
Environmental: zero emissions, chemical-free.
Strategic: affordable water transport to arid/remote regions; replaces diesel/high-pressure stations.
Integrations
Pairs with ARBOK desalination/water sources; solar/wind power; standard low-cost piping infrastructure.
Deployment & Operation
Steps: route/elevation survey → ejector + booster sizing → lay low-cost line → commission. Low-maintenance, renewable-compatible, minimal staffing.
TRL
TRL 4 (confirmed by Michael). Defined transport/lift energy figures validated at lab/relevant-environment level. Remaining: pilot transfer line for field validation.
Market Potential
Long-distance water transfer is energy- and capital-intensive worldwide; arid regions and inland cities increasingly depend on coastal desalination. A low-energy, low-pipe-cost transfer method addresses a large infrastructure gap.
Typical Project Economics
Transport energy 100–150 W/ton (flat) → a few cents per ton at $0.25/kWh; CAPEX cut by cheap piping and no pumping stations. Lift adds 16 kWh/ton per km. CAPEX/payback route-specific. (Detailed economics to be modelled per corridor.)
Risk Factors
R&D maturity — needs pilot line; elevation-heavy routes raise energy/booster count; flammable-fluid safety; civil permitting for long corridors; seal integrity along the line (air ingress reduces efficiency); source-vs-outlet elevation must be accounted for; intake-rights and discharge permitting.
