Overview
ARBOK-DEKA is an electrochemical electricity generator that runs on slightly salted water (including seawater) plus a specialized, long-life replaceable metal cartridge (proprietary know-how). Water is a minimal-consumable input and the cartridge cost is negligible per kWh. Containerized (20/40-ft) or wheeled, it suits remote, off-grid areas (deserts, isolated villages) where fuel delivery is impractical, and smaller units power yachts, boats, and ships. It needs no fuel and is far cheaper than combustion generators.
Applications
Primary use cases: off-grid power for remote villages and desert sites; marine power (yachts, boats, ships — networks or propulsion); emergency/autonomous power.
Industries and users: off-grid communities, marine operators, remote industry.
Scale: 5 kW DC (20-ft) / 10 kW DC (40-ft); smaller marine units.
Operating Principle
Electrochemical reaction between slightly salted/seawater and a specialized metal cartridge generates DC electricity; water is a minimal consumable and the cartridge is replaceable (months-to-years life). No combustion, no fuel.
Limitations: R&D stage; cartridge supply/replacement; DC output needs inverter for AC.
Key Parameters
Input: slightly salted water or seawater. Cartridge: single replaceable metal unit, long life. Output: 5 kW DC (20-ft) / 10 kW DC (40-ft); ~7–12 kW AC (inverter-dependent). Housing: 20/40-ft container or wheeled. Zero fuel; minimal consumables.
Architecture and Components
Electrochemical cell with metal cartridge; saltwater feed; DC output + inverter; control system; containerized or chassis-mounted. Cartridge replaceable.
Advantages
Technical: fuel-free; runs on seawater; long-life cartridge; container/wheeled deployment.
Economic: electricity cost 3–100× lower than combustion generators; installation 5–10× lower than comparable solar/wind.
Environmental: no fuel, no combustion emissions.
Strategic: autonomous off-grid and marine power without fuel logistics.
Integrations
Off-grid microgrids; marine electrical/propulsion systems; DEKA-MOBI transport application; cartridge supply line.
Deployment & Operation
Steps: place container/chassis → add saltwater + cartridge → operate. Minimal staffing; cartridge replacement months-to-years.
TRL
TRL 5 (confirmed by Michael). Validated in relevant environment; prototype development in progress. Remaining: field pilot and cartridge-lifetime validation.
Market Potential
Off-grid and marine power without fuel logistics is a large market in remote regions, islands, and developing economies, plus autonomous marine power — where DEKA's fuel-free saltwater operation is a strong fit.
Typical Project Economics
Electricity cost 3–100× below combustion generators; install cost 5–10× below comparable solar/wind; dominant cost is the long-life cartridge (negligible per kWh). Business model: generator sales + proprietary cartridge supply. (Per-site economics by load and config.)
Risk Factors
R&D maturity — needs prototype validation; cartridge chemistry/supply and lifetime; cost-claim substantiation; scale-up to production lines.
